That Video Hotness: B.o.B [Beast Mode]

The first video for B.o.B's new mixtape No Genre has officially dropped!

The video features the song Beast Mode and the mixtape will be released December 7th. If Beast Mode is an indication of how hard he is going to come on this damn mixtape...I don't think these other rappers are ready for the lyrical dopeness that is about to be released on the game. I hope they're taking notes. #BeastMode

"I really don't know how long I been doing this sh*t/I guess 2010 is the first year that you gave a sh*t/I was the under dog/so please excuse me a bit/I need some space so someone please make me some room in this b*tch/Cause I'm in beast mode..."

Peep it below!

Call Me Crazy but...Dem White Boyz [Mosh]

I do believe that this song is a hit...check out Mosh by Dem White Boyz! They got a little twang in their speech...a little bit of edge. I like!

The group consists of three dudes named, Sikk, Mr. Payne, and Skayta Boy. They hail from Oxford, Alabama and I think they're going to blow-up-tuate real soon...mark my words.

The one rapper from the group that stands out the most for me is Skayta Boy...his voice and delivery are different from the other dudes. If one of them does go solo in the future...it will probably be him.

Don't take my word for it though...peep them for yourself.

Sexiness of the Day: Terry Kennedy

Name: Terry Kennedy
Age: 25
Hometown: Long Beach, California
Occupation: Pro Skatboarder/Reality TV Star

Pop-a-muh-call-it: Taio Cruz [Dynamite]

I know I'm late...but that Taio Cruz has one helluva (Yes, that's a word...look it up lol) song don't he? He and Jason DeRulo are doing the damn thing with this whole pop music thing...after of course Lady Gaga brought the genre back because let's face it, before her...NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears had long killed that bad boy and buried him somewhere far far away.

Anyway though, before I continue to ramble on...peep Dynamite!

New Video Alert: Willow Smith [Whip My Hair]

The video for the fabulous chica that is Willow Smith's HOT hit song Whip My Hair has hit the net!

The Nicholas Brothers:The Legendary [Stormy Weather] Scene

This scene from the classic movie, Stormy Weather, has always made my mouth drop in awe. It is just amazing to me the talent that these two beautiful black men, who just happened to be brothers, had. The time, skill, and just dedication that it must've taken for, Faynard and Harold Nicholas, to become such great dancers is just mind blowing to me.

Do you guys see how steep those stairs are and how they jumped from them to eventually do splits over one another's body?! They freakin' glided across the floor...effortlessly! They made it look so easy! I know if I would have attempted to do any of the stunts they did...my ass would be in the emergency room with a concussion and a lot of broken bones...sipping food out of a straw for 6 months! My mama would just be shaking her head at me like, "You thought you were a Nicholas brother huh? I guess you found out the hard way that you're not!"

Classic Dopetastic Fresh-like Music: George Benson [Broadway]

I LOVE this song and I have loved it since I was a kid! People underestimate my music knowledge... I was born in 1988, but I have an older soul. Do NOT sleep on me!

Broadway is all about living your dream and not giving a *expletive* what people think. Just awesome.
Sing it Mr. Benson!

New Video Alert: Rich Girl [Swagger Right]

Off Top: These girls aren't really lookers are they? Just homely looking...a mess. ;)

I must say that I do love this song! I've liked Rich Girl since their first single, He Ain't With Me Now, I thought that song rocked...but unfortunately nobody else thought it did. lol Maybe Swagger Right will get more attention...I mean they did get two of the hottest rappers out right now for the song, Rick Ross and Fabolous...we shall see folks...we shall see.

In my professional opinion *cough cough* Swagger Right just may be the smoking gun these chicks needed.

The video reminds me of some Ciara-esque -ish though...but what do I know?

Peep the video below!

Lord Help Them: The Rent Money Dance

I suppose anybody can become a preacher these days and can claim to have been anointed by the most high. I am always a little sad that these preachers can say such crazy and off the wall foolishness and still have people in the congregation there to listen to it. I like how he tip toed around the subject though. Sir, if you're going to walk up to the line...you might as well cross it.
Allow the "Honorable" (they should use that term loosely) David Manning explain to you what the "Rent Money Dance" is and what it's used for and by who...

Chile'...I can't. Oh, and shout out to the paternal parental unit for sending me the video!

UPDATE: This man has a school! He's spouting this craziness to kids on a daily basis...8 hrs. a day....everyday. smh

Just Press Play: [Medusa] Chris Brown

Love, love, love this song! Medusa is on Chris' "In My Zone" mixtape that was released on Valentine's Day earlier this year. I think I played this song at least a 100 times...don't judge me.

Take a listen...just that dopeness!

Track My Feelings: [Spaceship] Kanye West

Gotta love music! Song pretty much sums up my feelings exactly! This is for every recent college graduate with the impending student loan balance trying to find that "good job" with the benefits and all that other good -ish!

We picked a perfect time to enter the "real world" folks...timing is everything. Sometimes you just have to laugh. Our time is coming...keep hope alive!

Where in the world is my dang blasted spaceship?!

Yooooo, TRACK MY FEELINGS SON!

Impeccable Audio: [F*ck You] Cee-Lo

I love this song!

Guess who, F*ck You, was written by? Just take a wild guess...

*hint* He's written a few hit songs this year.

Okay...you give up? Well I'll tell ya...you can stop yanking my arm now.

Bruno Mars! He's just great...sigh.

Get em' Cee-Lo! Owww! Oh, and for all you prudes...check the edited version [Forget You] after the jump. Thank me later!

Cee-Lo's solo album, The Lady Killer, drops this fall...hopefully.

Microphone Check: Major Harris ft. Richmond Rab [Saucey Baby]

804 VA ALL DAY!!!! Two up, two down! Get with it or get left! I get so excited when I see people from VA doing big things! WE GOT NEXT!

Okay now that I've gotten that out the way, the two artists featured on the song are Major Harris and Richmond Rab, and they are part of Dipset/Skull Gang South. Now, I had no idea Dipset included folk from the south...but hey you learn something new everyday.

With that being said...peep the video for Saucey Baby below and DO tell me what you think!

...and yes that is Juelz Sanatana in the video.

New Video Alert: Kanye West [Power]

My fave stage crasher is back like he never left and leaving other rap videos in the dust with his "moving painting" as he calls it.

The video is a whopping 1 minute and 43 seconds long...I thought Mtv had messed up when they premiered it last night...I was like "What?! It's over! What was that?! Where'd the video go?".

Now, I'm not going to lie...I've had to ask a few maybe 2,3, okay 4 people what exactly the video is about...and well I'm still not sure of the message he was conveying.

He said the video is about the fall of an empire...so, I guess...I do know that much.

Anyway, before I continue to ramble on peep the video below and give me your thoughts! Please and thanks! You're all beautiful!

Dig It or Kick It: 804 Clique [Without Any Sun]

First off, VA Two up, two down...804 ALL DAY!

They have just released the video for their new song, Without Any Sun/Swag On Em, and it was directed by the homie, Gamal Acree! Who also happens to have a pretty dope-tastic clothing line!

Check it out! http://www.gaartoffashioninc.com/

You Decide: Chasing Mummies

I'm a nerd and I don't hide it. I have said countless times that the History Channel is one of my favorite television channels. I love history and have always loved history. If I had went to school for teaching...yep you've guessed it...I would have taught history.

So imagine my excitement when I found out that the History Channel was introducing a new show to the line up about mummies. The advertising promoted the show as being like a docu series following around the knower of all mummy Egyptian -ish, Dr. Zahi Hawass, and some other archeology folk as they excavate mummies and discover more artifacts.

So, as I watched the show...after the first 5 minutes...I realized that the show was scripted. I can tell that Dr. Hawass' team are acting, like on some The Hills, type steez. I was just mad, torn, hurt, and bamboozled.

I mean what on earth has the world come to that I can't even watch a show on the History Channel, without worrying about whether it's real or not?

I never thought my favorite channel would sell out like that. Damn shame.

I guess I should mention that the History Channel hasn't actually said that the show is "scripted", so all this stuff I'm spouting...is alleged. I have no proof.

But hey don't take my word for it. See for yourself. Chasing Mummies airs Wednesday nights at 10/9c.

Kirs Artist Spotlight: Bruno Mars

I heard about Bruno Mars while listening to Billionaire by Travie McCoy...he of course is featured on the record. I heard of him again featured on B.o.B's smash hit Nothin' On You, and then I was able to put a face to the name after the videos was released.

I thought, this dude sings and he plays instruments. Does it get much better than that?

When you think about it...he's been featured on and co-written two hit songs by 2 rising stars in music. Not bad, not bad at all.

So it was only a matter of time before he released his own solo record, The Other Side, featuring none other than Cee Lo and B.o.B.

Say Word: Mel Gibson A Racist?

Newsflash Folks:  Mel Gibson has always been a racist asshole jerk...he's just been able to blame his outbursts on his alcoholism. Now, with the latest audio though, people are finally beginning to understand that a drunken mind speaks a sober truth.

So, are we burning the Lethal Weapon movies yet?

If you're feeling froggy...leap below and listen to the audio. The man has issues.

Kirs Artist Spotlight: Big K.R.I.T

"Could of bought my way to heaven, but I blow it on my neck."

This rapper/producer has given music the breath of fresh air that southern hip hop and just hip hop in general needed. There are so many talented artists in the world who seriously say some dope off the chart stuff that just makes you go "hmmmm".

When I saw the ending of his video for the song, Children of the World, and heard his last few bars I was like I have got to find out who this dude is. Mind you, I had no name to go on...I just knew he was from MS, because he mentioned it in the song. So I hopped on my favorite search engine, Google, typed in "Rapper from Mississippi" and saw his picture off to the side.

Eureka! I found him!

His style is something like a mixture of UGK, Talib Kweli, Andre 3000, with a southern country raw twang. Just refreshing.

Turns out he has recently signed to Def Jam...yeah I see big things happening for him in the future. He's going to be a force to be reckoned with in this music game.

Mark my words.
Peep the two of his songs below!

LONG LIVE THE KING: RIP MICHAEL JACKSON

Most people have no idea that I was a HUGE Michael Jackson fan growing up! I mean HUGE! For instance, my uncle had The Wiz on VHS and everytime I went over his house I had to watch Mike as the scarecrow gettin' down with his bad self. One day though, I went to his house and he told me he no longer had the movie. So, I asked him, "What do you mean you don't have it? Where is it?" He nonchalantly retorted, "I let someone borrow it and they never gave it back." Do ya'll know I was mad as hell?! I was ready to put a team out to go search for that damn movie & the triflin' ass thieving people who stole it! I still haven't let it go...I'm still mad. lol

My great aunt knew I was a fan as well, so she would buy his tapes (Moonwalker, etc) and I would literally sit in her den watching them over and over again...I'd just sit there mesmerized. I thought it was cool how people would faint at the sight of him...he was just the man...still is.

The Dangerous album stayed on repeat with me...it was not a game! I knew every word to every song off that album! I would put it on and just dance in the middle of my living room floor! You could not tell me that I wasn't the -ish!

I still can't believe it has been a whole year...he really did not have to go out like he did. Addiction is crazy man...now, all we have are the music, videos, and movies.

Rest in peace Mike...rest in peace.

Now, peep my 2 fave MJ songs ever!

They Tried It: April & Replica Handbags [The Youtube Version]

So, I subscribe to this lady named April's channel because I love the way she shows you how to rock wigs. No, I don't wear a wig, but hey one day I may want to...so I feel like I need to learn how to wear them. Don't judge me.

Anyway, long story short she did a "Chic for Cheap" segment on her channel about Replica Handbags aka knock offs aka that fake -ish...and some people left her some really disrespectful comments. So, she felt the need to set them straight.

Now, I thought this was pretty funny, because she's straight New York, smoking a cigarrette, and talking about replica handbags in her bathroom.

Yeah, they tried it.

Who in the Hell Left the Gate Open?

Those gosh darnit Twilight movies that's who! They left the damn gate open and I wandered inside of those bad boys! I can't even say I was forced to watch them, but I can blame it on the fact that there was 2 ft. of snow outside and I was bored out of my mind. So, against my own better judgement...I had this really wacky idea to just watch the movies: Twilight and New Moon.

I watched them back to back...one after the other...like I was addicted. I'm so disappointed in myself, because I should have exercised some self-control...and now I sit here awaiting the release of the 3rd installment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, on June 30th. Will Bella choose Jacob or Edward? That is the question.

Me personally, I'm Team Jacob ALL DAY!

Damn, now I'm even on a "team"...someone quick make me snap out of this. To all the friends that are now hooked on the movies...I'm sorry. You all were just innocent bystanders.

Sexiness of the Day: Michael Ealy

Now, anyone who knows me knows that I have had a "thing" for Michael Ealy ever since I saw his beautiful self in Ice Cube's, Barbershop movies. (Although, Their Eyes Were Watching God...sealed the deal for me too) Like most folks I had no idea who the man was or from where in the world he came, but I knew that in my mind we were kindered spirits cut from the same cloth just floating in this thing called life...okay seriously, let me cut the crap.

Ealy is sexy...no other words or commentary needed. He can just stand there and "be". The fact that he can articulate a full sentence and have an intellectual conversation is just icing on the cake.

In the words of my auntie in my mind Mo'Nique, "Yes, God is real."

Eclectic Taste: ElectroFunk Duo [Chromeo]

I've been into Chromeo for a few years now. I think they are just GREAT! The sound is electrofunk and very Very VEry VERy VERY 1980's, but that's why I dig it so much. I love musicians that think outside the box.

The duo is comprised of P-Thugg on the machines and Dave 1 on vocals/guitar. P is Arab and Dave is Jewish...music really does brings people together.

Keenan Ivory Wayans voice: MESSAGE

Anyway, they're Canadian and just awesome! Please check them out!

Social Networking at its finest...
One of my fave songs is Momma's Boy. The video is dope and the lyrics are pretty hilarious!

Artist 2 Watch: Rocki Evans

A few months ago I downloaded this mixtape called [More Songs About Girls] by this dude named Rocki Evans...now I really don't remember how I even found out about the mixtape, but that's not the point. The point is that the mixtape was all kinds of dope-tastic!

More Songs About Girls, features songs that were inspired by Will.I.Am's solo album [Songs About Girls]. One of my fave tracks is Fantastic, which was the mixtapes first official single...it rocks!

Rocki is a breath of fresh air because he doesn't rap, try to rap, claim to be a world famous rapper, etc...the man just sings. *sigh* His voice is raspy and he doesn't really sound like anyone else in the game right now...which again is a breath of fresh air.
So be sure to dowload the mixtape and check it out [More Songs About Girls]

Oh and did I mention Rockie Evans is kind of fine? Well umerumm yeah...Rocki is def a looker.

This dude is going to blow-up-tuate, and when he does think of me and this blog. Thanks.

Educational Television: River Monsters on Animal Planet

Okay, so I watch some of the weirdest stuff on television. While others are watching Grey's Anatomy, Lost, 24, and those other shows. I can usually be found watching shows on my fave channels Discovery, TLC, The History Channel, Animal Planet, PBS, and etc.

One of my absolute fave shows is called River Monsters, hosted by this man named Jeremy Wade.

Now one thing about Mr. Wade is that he is completely nuts, but for this show, it's actually a good thing because without him there would be no show. He basically travels all around the world looking for big ass monster looking fish.

The fish creatures this man catches and wrestles to the ground often times look like things that are out of the freakin' X-Files, but that's why I love the show so much; because it teaches you that there is more to the world and its animals than we think.

Check out River Monsters every Sunday at 10pm e/p on Animal Planet!

Impeccable Audio: [Power] Kanye West

First off, yes...I am aware that I am late with posting about this song, but who are you to judge me?

Anyway, back to the matter at hand...now for the past few months I have been asking myself where in the world is Kanye?! I felt like maybe I needed to put his face on the back of a milk carton and begin a mass search, but just before I contacted the authorities... POWER dropped.

Yeezy never disappoints me. He always brings that new-new. Yes I am a fan. Yes, I dig the power and my taste is impeccable.

50 Cent: Is that You?!

So, I was on one of my fave blogs NecoleBitchie and I was floored by pictures that I saw of 50 Cent...yes...the rapper. When I saw the pictures I was thinking to myself, now what in the Sam Hill has this man gotten himself into? As I read on though, I learned that he lost a boat load of weight for a new movie he's doing called, Things Fall Apart. The film centers around a football player who is diagnosed with cancer...hence, 50's sickly lookin' appearance. He now weighs about 160 lbs. and it took him 9 weeks to get down to that weight.

I mean I'm for dedication to ones craft, but can I keep it real? His acting better be some of the most fantastic acting that we've ever freakin' seen, because if it's not and he doesn't get nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe, or whatever else awards that are out there for acting, then all this weight loss...son...son...ya'll know what I'm trying to say.

I mean Tom Hanks lost weight to look like an AIDS patient for Philadelphia...but then again he's freakin' Tom Hanks.

I loved 50 in Get Rich or Die Tryin, I really hope 50 does his thing in this movie.

Jesus be a fence. Please.

I'm Convinced...the [Energy Drink] Edition

I think I'm going to add a new segment to Industry*Kirs entitled [I'm Convinced], because there are just so many things I foresee a problem with in the future.

My first topic has to do with the ever changing, highly marketable, and most of the time some weird ass color that can't be good for you product...the "energy drink".

Now, I know that if I polled some of you addictive asses folk you'd be able to name me every energy drink that is on the shelf right now. Me personally, I can only name like 3 off top and here they are in no particular order, Monster, Amp'd, and Red Bull. Now, I know there are more but these are all I know and see people drink the most of.

My problem with these potions, concoctions, mystery liquids "drinks" is that they are not really natural. Most of them are filled with caffeine out the ass and once you drink them you're good for a few hours and then you CRASH. So, in order to prohibit the CRASH...most folk just well drink another can full.

It's always funny to see people who are addicted to their "drank" because the minute they don't think they're going to be able to obtain their vice...they go into hysterics. I've told several people they should try to ween themselves off "that stuff" and they look at me like a crack head needing a fix and say, "I know...I know...girl I just need it. I'm going to give them up one day."

You'll never catch me drinking one of those liquid addictions. If I need energy...I take a nap...or just fall asleep where I'm at like normal people.

Besides, I'm convinced...that in 10 years...they're going to tell us that it turns your insides blue and I don't need anymore problems. I've got student loans to pay back.

Kirs[ed] Throwback: I Get So Lonely [Janet Jackson]

I Get So Lonely, is probably one of my most favorite Janet Ms. Jackson if you're nasty songs! Love it!
The Velvet Rope = CLASSIC

Song 2 Watch: Billionaire [Travis McCoy feat. Bruno Mars]

I love Travis McCoy (yes...that Travis from the Gym Class Heroes) and I'm beginning to like Bruno Mars...I had never heard of him until B.o.B's, Nothin' on You, came out. Anyway, the song...I dig it and I cannot wait for his solo album, Lazarus, to drop on June 8th...hopefully.

This song is just a dreamer's anthem.

We'll get there one day folks...one day...we shall arrive.

This version is unedited...you've been warned.

Video Hottness: Holla at Me [Chris Brown & Tyga]

No commentary needed. VA stand-up.

Lord have mercy... and in the words of my auntie in my head Mo'Nique, "Yes, God is real."

Honey, shout out to Necole Bitchie because up until I saw her post today talking about Thomas and his supposed (keyword) girlfriend, I had no idea this gorgeous mantastic creature existed.

Make it so bad, he plays for the Washington Redskins and I live in the DMV area...I have got to step my game up.

Oh, and word from Thomas' "Rep" is...he's single and ready to mingle...so some desperate soul lied about his relationship-ness...they ain't right for that...not right at all.
He's 23 and employed ladies...23 and employed! Get him!

PAUSE of the Day: Kiely of 3LW [Spectacular] Video

Okay, where do I begin? What in the hell is this shit? Yo, for all my skeezers, side pieces, freak janks, and just plain ol' hoes you've now got an official anthem, courtesy of the former 3LW member and Cheetah Girl herself Kiely Williams.

Oh yes, this video features THAT Kiely Williams. I swear I don't get some of these singers, and I use the term "singers" loosely, at what point did she say, "Hey f*ck talent... I just wanna do some ho shit!"

The first line of her song is, "I don't remember much...last night I was drunk..." and she goes on for about 3 minutes and some change talking about how good the sex was that she had with some random dude, that she met at a bar, and she can't remember if she wore a condom.
